Fishing Pole
While the term "fishing pole" literally refers to a bamboo pole with line attached for fishing and "fishing rod" is the modern version with line guides and a reel, both are used interchangeably in modern language.
The fishing pole is the primary piece of equipment that most fisherman employ. Every person has their own preference on the right kind of rod and the proper materials to use when making them. Luckily for consumers there are more than enough manufacturers out there competing to make us happy. They produce fishing poles from a variety of materials, and sell them in an even higher price range.
The ability to flex without breaking is one of the most important aspects of a good fishing pole. This is often referred to as the "action" of a pole. Most of the time when a fish is caught the pole needs to be able to flex to keep the fish from snapping the line. Most modern rods are made from carbon fiber and fiberglass. These materials allow the fishing pole to be light, strong, flexible, and durable.
Fishing poles come in a variety of thicknesses and lengths for the different kinds of fishing available. If you are deep sea fishing you will want to have an extremely thick and strong pole, while if you are hiking to a stream to fish you will want a smaller, lighter pole. Some poles can change from a fly fishing pole to a normal pole just by changing the handle. These types of rods are great if you like to do multiple types of fishing.
